Action Required: RDC Scanner Root Certification Installation

CSI was notified this week that RDM® has changed their scanner domain certification process from an annual update to a root certificate installed on the local workstation. RDM®’s annual Domain certificate for EC9600i and EC9700i scanners expired on September 20, 2024.
As a result, the RDM® SCI Web API which enables USB Plug-and-play (usb.rdmscanners.net) no longer functions. To regain functionality, all RDM® EC9600i and EC9700i users will need to:

1. Modify the Scanner IP to 192.168.253.1 within the Merchant Site Configuration:

2. Install the RDM® Root Certificate on their local workstation using the links provided below: 

• RDM® Root Certificate Installer for Windows computers:

  (same as is included in the ADK 7.2.0.23 package)
• RDM® Root Certificate Installer for Mac computers: 
  https://files.rdmcorp.com/?u=f4hW&p=WKmh&path=/RDM-NW-Scanner-Setup.dmg

After installation the scanners will regain functionality. The new RDM® Root certificate will not expire until November 16, 2056.
